"- With increasing age, children and adolescents tap into a larger repertoire of online activities that are linked to various aspects of participation, such as taking part in political discussions or searching for information about job or study opportunities or about health issues. - Overall, news interest is not (yet) too strong among respondents, but increases with age. The news-related interest of adolescents is mainly in the so-called soft news, which summarises news about stars, lifestyle reports and funny or strange news. - The children tended to rate their own knowledge of politics and current affairs rather low. The same applies to the feeling that they can influence political events. - The majority of the children have heard of 'Fridays for Future'. 46 per cent of these respondents have searched for further information on the internet and 17 per cent of them say that they have already taken part in a 'Fridays for Future' demonstration."
