Goals

"The aim of the sub-study "Mobile Medien und Internet im Kindesalter – Fokus Kindertageseinrichtungen" is to record the situation in child daycare facilities about the use of mobile and digital media. The analysis focuses on the media use of the children in care, the importance of media in the daily work of staff and management, and their needs concerning media education. Of particular importance is the attitude of the pedagogical staff towards media as well as the equipment of the daycare centres with media devices and offers. The study is interested in the following areas: (1) Which media pedagogical offers and methods do responsible persons and employees experience as promising in their work with this age group about the goals anchored in the education and upbringing plan and the goals they set themselves? (2) What resources (knowledge, equipment, etc.) can educational teams in daycare facilities draw on in their media education work? (3) What are the needs of the pedagogical staff in daycare facilities for children up to ten years of age about media education work?" (Schubert et al. 2018, 9) [translated by the coder]
